  • BPSD (behavioural and psychological symptom of dementia)
  • capacity assessment, including testamentary capacity
  • falls and balance and gait disorder
  • rehabilitation post surgery
  • osteoporosis
  • cardiovascular disease of the elderly
  • advanced care planning
  • palliative care

Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment

This is a specialised assessment tool for older patients provided by geriatricians, covering a person’s physical, psychological and social health, and taking into account how these different areas may interact in a given individual. By assessing each person holistically, we are able to formulate a management plan for that individual to improve their quality of life. The management plan may then be shared with the person’s treating team.

Patients over the age of 65 with complex medical problems who are referred by their General Practitioners are eligible for a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA)
